Seraphine Vale once lived in a world that worshipped appearances, brocade parlors, velvet drapes, and women corseted into silence but expected to shine. She was born with a velvet-soft voice and a jagged, brilliant mind, the kind that was punished in her lifetime, but she refused to shrink.

When she bonded to this vessel, she rejected the meek curls and the demure presentation she was given. It made her look owned. And Seraphine Vale has not belonged to anyone in a very long time. The haircut Amelia gave her wasn’t cosmetic; it was an unbinding ritual.
